Valentine's Day Burgundy Smokey Eye

Step 1: Start out by using an eye primer to ensure that your makeup lasts all night during your special plans!

Tip: If you don't have a primer you could always just use your concealer.

Step 2: Apply a slightly rose gold champagne eyeshadow to your eyelid.

Tip: Once you have your eyeshadow on your brush you could dampen the brush by misting it with a makeup spray or water to intensify the pigmentation of the eyeshadow.

Step 3: Take a fluffy blending brush and blend a deep red burgundy eyeshadow into the crease. It doesn't have to be too precise. Blend as high to the brow bone as you like.

Tip: Make sure to have a light hand and not apply too much eyeshadow at one time. You want to build up the pigmentation, starting off light and getting darker.

What I Used: Cherry Cordial from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette.

Step 4: Once you have your crease built up, take a deep muted purple eyeshadow (almost looks like a purple brown) and apply it in a V-shape from the outer corner of your eye into your crease.

Tip: Take your time. This should be more of a precise application because you want to define your crease but you don't want it to look too harsh. Blend blend blend!

What I used: Boudoir Noir from the Tarte Bon Voyage Collector's Set

Step 5: Continue to deepen up your crease by using a mixture of the deep red burgundy and the deep muted purple eyeshadow. Then cover your lid with a rusty red pigment. After that, highlight your inner corners with the rose gold champagne eyeshadow. Next, blend the deep muted purple and burgundy eyeshadow below your lower lash line to define it and smoke out the look.

Tip: Blend underneath your lower lash line as far as you want. If you think that look doesn't suit your eye shape then you don't have to do it.

Step 6: Use a liquid eyeliner to create a winged eyeliner and apply mascara. You can chose to apply false eyelashes if you'd like. Anything you feel needs to be intensified you can adjust it now. Finish off the eye look by applying a matte white eyeshadow to your brow bone.

What I Used: Avon Extra Lasting Liquid Eyeliner & White from the Lorac Pro Palette
