R M K Foundation Brush

R M K Foundation Brush
I first saw this on Taiwan's celebrity beauty show, 女人我最大. It was being used to apply liquid foundation. I think the foundation used for Dior Capture Totale.

The makeup artist said that this would be amazing to blend out highly pigmented liquid foundation by patting little by little along the cheekbones. And so I bought it! =D

So does it live up to the hype?

Packaging
The brush comes in a simple plastic case as seen in the photo below. You can slip it back in when not using to protect the brush from dust.

Size and Handle
The brush is extremely short - think makeup purse/bag length. The handle is a beautiful matte black with R M K print in a nondescript fashion at the end.

The bristle size itself is also extremely small. It is only slightly bigger than the size of my thumb.

Bristle Cut and Shape
As seen in the photo above, this brush is basically paddle-cut. It is highly tapered on the sides to give it a rounded paddle shape. It is also highly tapered on the flat sides - the bristles really go from longest right in the middle to as short as 3 mm from the ferrel.

The picture was taken after a lot of use so you see all the foundation on it. I thought this is also better to show you how tapered it really is - the longer bristles are much more shaded with foundation than the shorter ones.

Density
This R M K Foundation Brush is so dense that it really packs a punch despite its size. It is tiny, but very powerful.

Performance and Finish
The brush works magic at spreading out any liquid foundation to perfection. It blends out very efficiently because it is so highly tapered, just once, twice, thrice, every single trace of foundation is gone, and what you see is flawlessly covered skin. I cannot say enough good about this brush; you need to try it for yourself.

The only con, really, is how small it is. So while it is efficient at blending out foundation, it does take you more strokes around the face to cover your whole face.

Extra
What I like about this brush is how I can use it to pat-pat on little bit of foundation or even powder and liquid blush with this - Korean style.

For Korean style, watch jungsaemmool or Pony's Beauty Diary on insiteTV.

Cost
For how well-made this brush is, the cost is really affordable at $49.00.

Rating: 5/5.
It is perfect. But because I personally prefer slightly bigger brushes, I do not use this brush for my everyday look. I use this brush for special occasions, when I use my R M K gel foundation. Also, I do look forward to R M K producing this exact brush in one size larger.

If you are fond of gel foundation, this IS the perfect brush to get.
If you, like me, like larger base brushes, then I'd say it is fine to skip this altogether because you likely will keep it in the drawer after a while.
